Rules of Etiquette
Here are some suggested "rules of etiquette" to observe when fishing Steelhead on our rivers, especially when fishing among other anglers. Email if you have anything that should be added to the list.
Respect the Fish
Respect Your Environment
Respect the law
First Come -- First Served. A piece of water belongs to the person who fishes there first - don't intrude.
If an angler is "resting the hole" do not jump in without first asking permission.
Respect private property rights, ask permission before crossing through private property.
Don't spook another's fish, never enter the stream in front of another fisherman. Stay quiet in and near the water, always back away or yield to an angler with a fish hooked up.
Never litter and always leave the area cleaner than you found it.
Common sense always rules, so treat other fishermen with the same respect that you feel you are entitled.
